Public Health
Role: Statistician/Analyst in Public Health
As a Statistician/Analyst in the field of public health, you will work at the intersection of public health science, epidemiology, and statistics.
You will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and communicating knowledge bases for decision-making. You will drive the work of monitoring health development in the county with the goal of contributing to more equitable health. You will lead development within the area in collaboration with municipalities and other stakeholders.
The role includes:
- Planning, conducting, and analyzing population surveys and questionnaires – from sampling and question construction to compilation and communication of results
- Compiling, analyzing, and processing population data and registry data
- Supporting and conducting follow-ups and evaluations of public health initiatives
- Monitoring, analyzing, and visualizing indicators related to public health
- Preparing reports, decision-making bases, and presentations for civil servants, decision-makers, and political leadership
- Leading analysis seminars and breaking down complex statistics into understandable knowledge that stimulates development and dialogue
- Developing and ensuring quality in working methods within analysis, follow-up, and evaluation
- Working with data visualization
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, academia, and authorities to strengthen analysis capacity in the public health area

Your Profile
We are looking for a statistician who combines methodological competence with a genuine interest in public health issues.
Qualifications:
- Advanced academic degree in public health science, statistics, epidemiology, health economics, or another relevant field
- Documented experience working with survey methodology and population surveys
- Documented experience working with registry data and large datasets
- Good knowledge of statistical methods and working in statistical software (we work with SPSS and R)
- Good ability to analyze and interpret indicators and trends, and draw conclusions that can be used as a basis for prioritization
- Experience in data visualization that makes results understandable and useful for different target groups
- Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English
It is an asset if you have:
- Good knowledge of visualization and geomapping of data (e.g., Power BI, GIS, etc.)
- Project management experience
